Before purchasing the Jensen GTS – 1500e Wood Chipper (GTS) I did a lot of searching. The decision was very clear after watching a few You tube videos of commercial landscapers using the GTS. The GTS will be shipped with some assembly which if there was another person would have made putting on the wheels easier. AS for octane rating of 92 I only use non-ethanol gas which has a rating of 89. I did enquire and the response was it would be okay which it has been. So far the GTS has worked through a ton of material just be careful not to insert long vine weeds which can clog the exit chute which will require detaching and clearing it (took me awhile to figure that out as nothing else would be sucked in). Also, I only feed branches with not larger then 2″ dia because I can hear the machine work hard (larger logs are not bulky anyway in my bin so I place them on top of the load). Sorry for the long review but I believe there is not another machine that can match the GTS for the price and function bar none! Aloha, Eric

I ordered it on the weekend which was the 15th Saturday and I got it Tuesday 18th. Have not use the machine yet but very impressive with the shipping and how easy it was to put together. Didn’t have to look at the manual, everything was pretty much idiot proof.

Before I purchased this chipper, I bought a WoodMaxx that attached to my tractor PTO. It was a very good unit. Unfortunately, what I didn’t know before I bought that chipper was that my PTO clutch was quite small, and the strain ate the clutch quickly. So, I started to look for another chipper, but I needed something larger than those commonly found at other retailers. Then I found this Jansen and, after looking into for a couple of weeks, I went ahead and bought one. This should have been the first one I bought because it’s a beast, and I mean that in the best possible way. It eats everything I feed it and begs for more. It’s incredibly well built, and the quality is top-notch. I had a question for support and emailed them. They didn’t simply write back, they picked up the phone and called me and I got the answers I was looking for immediately. This is a great machine and I absolutely recommend it! You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve used my gts 1500 for 3 seasons now6 commercially in central Texas. We have mostly oak and elm trees to prune. I stay under 2 inch material because the rest is firewood and charcoal making material. I’ve had a couple small issues with the machine as it comes from the manufacturer. I had to align the drive pulley to the drum pulley. Other than that it’s just been normal maintenance and wear parts. I’m on my 5th set of blades and it’s time for a new anvil. I would like to see a belt clutch to disengage the engine from the drum. But that’s just me. All in all, I’ve used this little affordable machine to the limit and it has preformed well. It was money well spent.

I couldn’t be more thankful for this thing. I cleaned up my entire property – 5 acres -In just 3 days! (that’s a feat for this old guy) and I had a blast doing it. This machine didn’t skip a beat. I have loanded it to friends and family who have also worked it to the bone. Great purchase.

Initially a couple of issues. Electrical was not connected completely and it would not shut down. Battery wire routed under the machine where it can snag. Wiring in general not secured and it snagged on a limb and had to turn off the fuel to shut it down. Reconnected and tied up harness. Got that fixed.
Chipped a Locust Tree and got BIG chunks. Checked blade gaps and was not within tolerance from the factory and would not adjust to within without taking everything loose and resetting knives and anvil. Then was good. Can’t really add fuel without taking the exit chute off and unbolting the input hopper and leaning it back.
After those items corrected found out this thing is a BEAST! It ate any and everything I threw at it. After the Locust did 3 pines. Performed flawlessly including needles and cones. Green needles came out whole but dead chipped great. Never a problem with exit clogging up. Needs some tweaking during assembly but can highly recommend this unit. Have not tried it on a slope so hope it doesn’t tip over. Starts easy and not too loud.
Highly recommend it. Very heavy duty.

Purchased another brand (more expensive) before finding this one, and there is no comparison. The large throat and drum configuration for the blades on the Jansen is far superior to the disc configuration on the other brand, and makes the Jansen truly self-feeding. I use it regularly tree farming and it is small enough to maneuver through the woods behind an ATV, with no complaints about power. Would recommend using blue thread lock on the wheel bolts, just like on the blade bolts.

Purchased this machine after watching a Youtube video where a tree service was chipping fresh cut limbs with ease.. Having had small chippers in the past this surprised me.. Starting tree work as my full time I’d picked up this Jansen GTS 1500e which had just been upgraded with a 22hp-25hp engine. It surprised me how solid the machine was and how well it works!!! I’m thanking GOD constantly for the level of performance for something so compact!!!! However, a word of warning… Be careful what you put in to be chipped. I mistakenly put in a landscape timber which I believe had metal spikes in it.. The Jansen was throwing sparks from where the wood chips come from because it ate one side of my double sided blades for lunch.. Thank GOD, I was able to order new blades and striker plate if needed for replacement in the future.. AND because the chipper blades are 2 sided I was able to heat up the threadlock bolts holding the blades in and after removing the blade, turn it around and use the other sharp edge. This had to be done on both blades and then adjust the strike plate with an 8 mm allen wrench to be 2 mm (+/-.5mm) clearance from the blade. I chose 1.5 mm between the blade and striker plate and my machine was back at it!!!! IT stuns me how massive piles of branches I’ve had sitting for about 2 weeks are chipped into virtually nothing in no time. If I didn’t have to change the blades and adjust the strike plate today I would have a 2 week worth of branches chipped up in one day easily. Now, I’ve seen a youtube video where someone said the Jansen GTS 1500e was something to stay away from but this particular person admits he is chipping dead limbs and you can clearly see the blades and strike plate weren’t properly adjusted. Mine works famously and I couldn’t be happer!!!! Thank GOD for whoever designed this unit!!! I am well pleased!!!
